Discovery · Concept · Sourcing · Install

Our process, explained.

Good design is calm because the work behind it is organized. Here is exactly how a Fold & Field project moves from first conversation to the day you move back in.

Start a Project See the Work

Five steps, no surprises

  1. 01

    Discovery

We begin with a conversation about how you live, what frustrates you about your space today, and the feeling you want to come home to. We walk the rooms, take measurements, and listen more than we talk.

  2. 02

    Concept

We translate that conversation into a clear direction: mood boards, floor plans, and a material palette. You review and sign off on the concept before a single item is ordered, so there are no expensive surprises later.

  3. 03

    Sourcing & Procurement

We source through our trade network and blend in vintage and custom pieces. Then we manage every order, lead time, and freight claim in one place — the least glamorous, most important part of the job.

  4. 04

    Install & Styling

On install day our team places each piece, hangs the art, and styles the shelves. We handle deliveries, assembly, and the inevitable last-minute problem-solving so you don't have to.

  5. 05

    Handover

We hand back a finished, photograph-ready home and a simple guide to the pieces we selected. Many clients climb the ladder from here into a second room or phase.

The quiet luxury

You always know where the project stands.

A dedicated project lead is your single point of contact from discovery through handover. You'll never re-explain your project to a new coordinator, chase a delivery yourself, or wonder what happens next. That clarity is the quiet luxury clients remember long after the paint dries.

Process questions

  • How involved do I need to be?
As involved as you'd like. Some clients want to weigh in on every fabric; others hand us the keys after concept sign-off. We flex to your appetite, but the big decisions always run through you.
  • What if something arrives damaged?
It happens on nearly every project — which is why we inspect deliveries on receipt and file freight claims for you. You usually never see the problem; you just see the finished room.
  • When do I pay for furnishings?
Procurement is approved and funded before we place orders, so you always know what's being bought and when. We provide clear, itemized approvals rather than a mystery invoice at the end.
